Sick as a Dog

Poor Millie! Not only does she have to put up with Trigger, she has been sick. Last Monday morning EARLY she started throwing up. I took her to the vet, and everything checked out so she sent us home and said she could only have a liquid diet. Millie loves her food and treats, so this was not very easy for us to do. The next day she was back to her old self and gobbling her food down. Tonight she started throwing up again. Guess it is back to the vet for us first thing tomorrow.

Trigger got skunked. We all know that anything that happens to him, or anything he does is not surprising. Friday night I spent the night with my Mom and Brent. Dustin was on a boys trip, and my Dad was in south Texas. We had just finished the Rangers game, and I was all ready for bed. I took the dogs out to go to the bathroom, and next thing I know it smells and Trigger is shaking off, snorting, and coughing. He had been skunked. Well since I was screaming, Brent opened the door, and he ran inside! Luckily he did not get far, and my Mom caught him and dragged him back outside. Since I was in MAJOR panic mode, my wonderful Mom googled what we need to do. While Mom mixed up the baking soda concoction I went to go check on Trigger. I wanted to make sure he wasn't dying. Nope, he was just bouncing around the backyard chasing a bug. Nothing phases this dog. Mom and I washed him down, and the smell had pretty much went away on him. I highly recommend that baking soda concoction if you ever had a pet sprayed by a skunk. Inside the house was a different story! My poor Mom! I am hoping that the smell inside will soon go away!

Thoughts from Trigger Jack

Well Trigger has some exciting news as well....he has found the moon again. Many of you may remember a few years back Trigger discovered the moon. He would sit outside crying, jumping, and barking at the moon.

Last night the weather was so nice Dustin and I ate dinner outside. Trigger, who wonders around aimlessly most of the time, stumbled across the moon while looking for birds. It was on! How dare that moon think it can get away with Trigger not seeing it in the sky so high. Although he did not completely lose his mind...I think it was because he was still tired from his mind being lost for most of the day, he did still have an issue with the moon being up in the sky. Luckily a bug flew in front of his face and across the yard, so he had to make sure he chased the bug clear to the other side of the fence. Since he can not concentrate on anything...the moon is safe for another day.

Since Halloween is getting close...here are a few pictures of the puppies in some of their old Halloween costumes:

Congratulations!

Well it is official...ASHLEY AND TYLER ARE ENGAGED. We received a call about 9:30 last night, and since old man Dustin goes to bed at 8pm he did not answer. By the way he is the most cranky person to wake up, so it did take him a minute to comprehend what was going on. Ashley then called my phone right away, since Dustin did not answer. Smart move, but she should have called me first anyways :). Their story is super sweet, and we could not be more excited for them. Welcome to the family Tyler! We can not wait to celebrate all the exciting times with you two together. Below is a picture of the happy couple (courtesy of facebook):

Getting back into the swing of things...

Dustin started work with Halliburton this week. He is really enjoying his new job so far. He said it is a learning curve from what he came from, but he thinks it is going to be something he is going to enjoy for the long run. He has been exploring his new job sites, and getting acquainted with his new co-workers. We even got invited to a dinner for Dave, a guy who has worked with Halliburton for 35 years, anniversary dinner. I had a lot of fun, and I enjoyed putting a face to a name.

I on the other hand have had a week from hell! Tuesday I started my work week off in Beaumont. I really hate going their in the first place, but to make it worst I had to drive through the tropical depression. Then half way home I realize my center BIG diamond was missing from my ring. Of course I was in a complete panic. I drove over to my friend Amber's house. She ran outside, in the pouring rain, with Avery to help me look for the diamond. She laid Avery down in the back seat as we tore through my Tahoe. Thank goodness we found it, and I had her there to keep me from losing my mind completely! I have had a super busy work week, and I feel like I am never going to be able to catch up. Don't worry I will. I have the slowest market ALIVE this weekend in Dallas. I fly into Dallas on 9/11 to work in the World Trade Center....anyone else see the creepiness in this? It is so slow that I sit on my computer and watch football. I hate this market. Our Louisiana rep Joan is retiring after this market. I will be really sad to see her go. She is in her late 70's , and is the sweetest woman you will ever meet.

My Grandma Beken also turned 87 today. I went with my Mom to take her and Popo to lunch today in Columbus. When we left Popo needed to stop by the liquor store in Columbus, because they had Jim Beam $3.00 cheaper than Weimar, and he was almost out. We then tried to get Nana to try on some of the new clothes Mom got her. This was a process, but was really funny. She wanted to keep everything, and was so defensive when we said she needed another size. We had a great time!

Everyone have a great weekend!

OH MY OH MY

Well it is official, Dustin starts work September 7th. He passed his drug test and back round check. We are VERY excited. This past weekend Dustin's Mom and sister Ashley came in, and we celebrated the new job at the Taste of Texas. My parents, Courtney, Ryder, Phyllis, Ashley, and myself enjoyed plenty of cocktails and good food. We were sad that Brent, Charlie and Dustin's Dad couldn't make it to dinner, but we ate plenty of good food for ya ;). Saturday night I had a Scentsy party at my house, because Ashley is now selling it. It was a lot of fun, and I have to say it is an amazing product. My one Scentsy smells up my whole house! Let me know if you are interested in any Scentsy product. Here are some pics from the weekend!

Yesterday Millie and Trigger had their yearly check up. Millie HATES the vet, and of course Trigger looks at it as a social hour. Millie gets so nervous and shakes and pants, and I hate doing that to her. They took her back first, and Trigger cried at the door to go in the back. What dog WANTS to go in the back at the vet office? When they came back with Trigger the vet proceeds to tell us that Trigger licked her and the assistant in the face the entire time...GO FIGURE. He is such a social animal! Millie came out ok, because Daddy gave her about 30 treats while we were there. By the end of the visit she was fine and had a full belly.

Next weekend we head to San Antonio for the 7th Annual Trigon Tubulars Dove Hunt. Dustin and I are going to head up to Pipe Creek Wednesday afternoon to enjoy some peace, before he goes back to work. Millie and Trigger will be staying at 4 Paws Bed and Biscuit across the road for the weekend. Hope they will be ready for wild man Trigger.

This weekend we will just be taking it easy. Saturday we have Miss Emerie Griffith's 1st birthday party. We are also going to have a couple friends over to watch the Texans vs. Cowboys game. Go Cowboys!!

NEWEST HALLIBURTON EMPLOYEE....

That's right!!! Dustin got a job offer today from Halliburton to be their new Construction Project Coordinator. We are so thankful for all of our friends and family who have helped us through this difficult time. We are so grateful for all we have, and are very excited to start the journey with Halliburton. God is great!!!

This weekend Dustin's parents and sister just happen to be coming in town. Now we have a real celebration to do!!!

I do believe Taste of Texas is calling our name!

I also want to wish my Mother-in-law a Happy 22nd Birthday today ;)

Triggs and Mills are excited....can't you tell?

BIG UPDATE!!

Hey Everyone! Just wanted to give you all a quick update on Dustin's job search. He has his 2nd and final interview with Halliburton on Thursday morning from 8am-11am. Please please please pray pray pray that he will get the job. This is the job he interviewed for back in Febuary with Halliburton's construction end. I will keep everyone posted on what happens!

Clark Household Update

The search for a job still continues for Dustin, but we have had some positive news. The Halliburton job has had some movement, and if all goes well he can go in for the "2nd interview" in a couple weeks. Another guy he worked with at Gables, Gary, gave him a job lead with a company he was with Martin Harris. Gary this week switched jobs to another company. Basically what I am trying to say is that opened up 2 possible job opportunities. Please continue to pray that something comes up for us soon. We are continuing to be positive, and have started back to church. My childhood church St. Peter's United Methodist got a new preacher, and we really like him. He is an excellent preacher and motivational speaker. He really knows how to take the word of God, and inspire everyone in the congregation. We know God has a plan for us, but we hope the lesson he wanted us to learn from this is soon coming to an end. We are both ready to get back to a normal, somewhat predictable routine. So please please please keep us in your daily prayers!

I am continuing to work strongly with my key accounts Charming Charlie, Francesca's, and Stage Stores. I am also working the Handy Hardware show again this year. It is in San Antonio this year. Dustin, my Mom, and I are heading up to Boerne Wednesday to set up Thursday morning for the show. I am representing more vendors then ever this year at the show, so I need all the help I can get! My Mom has helped me the past 3 years, and I am so grateful she still is willing to help out. I am excited that Dustin is coming this year too. Last year I cussed out a wagon I was putting together for about 30 minutes, and even threw a screwdriver across the booth. I got a lot of stares, and even one brave individual who asked if I needed help. I think my handy man will have better luck, and I won't look like a complete weirdo to the other vendors. I am working this week trying to get all my "ducks in a row" for my show.

Last weekend we were in Boerne, relaxing, and helping Charlie my brother-in-law watch my nephew. My sister went to Colorado to visit her friend Page, and Ryder was left alone with Dad. We had a blast! He is growing up so fast...and I mean Ryder, not Charlie. He is starting to talk in sentences, and it is hilarious to listen to him talk. Since the boys were trapping the exotics in the evenings, Ryder and I hung out at the house. I made dinner on Saturday, and gave him some sausage and mashed potatoes. He took a bite of his potatoes and said "mmmm this is good CC". I just cracked up laughing. Ryder has decided he is going to rename everyone, and I am Aunt CC. We were also playing in the pool Saturday afternoon, and Ryder noticed one of Dustin's tattoos on his arm. He starred at it for a minute and then goes "what is that?". My response is "that is white trash", and Dustin said "don't ever do it, it's a tattoo". Then we both just cracked up. He is such a funny little man. Here are a couple pictures of Ryder.

Last but not least...Trigger. We all know that Trigger is what we like to call "special". He never seems to surprise me. I was laying out in the pool on a float trying to get some sun. I then noticed a skinny shadow blocking my sun, and following me around the pool. Then came the snorting and crying, and I figured out it was Trigger. I pulled the float over to the beach and got off because I did not know what he wanted. He proceeded to get on my float. Dustin then floated him around the pool. He just sat there, like in the picture below. For the rest of the weekend NO ONE could get on the float, simply because it was already occupied with a "sun bathing vizsla".

Millie was happy to finally get some rest, and a full belly thanks to Ryder. My sister's dog Lila came, and her and Trigger "rode the short bus" together. All they do is play chew face, and chase each other. This weekend was kind of a vacation for Millie, since Ryder was always dropping food and Trigger had Lila to play with. Lila this weekend ate an abundance of dead frogs. She loves them, and its so gross. We have sticky pads in the garage to catch field mice. A frog got stuck to one of the pads....and so did Lila. Her face must got stuck to one of the pads, and she left the mangled sticky pad and dog hair on the garage floor. I really wish we could have seen this in action!

That is about all that is happening around here! I will try to write more soon!

Keep Praying

Hey everyone! Thank you so much for your prayers and support over the past months, but we need them to continue. Dustin has had a couple opportunities come about lately, but we still need all the support we can get. I will let you know as soon as we hear something.

Here is a quick laugh for everyone. My brother-in-law Charlie sent this to me on Friday, when I was stuck in the Atlanta airport. It made me laugh so hard I thought I would share. He is such a mess...literally!

Avery Brooke

Miss Avery Brooke Forrest finally made her appearance on June 24,2010. Of course she decided to come out and join us while I was at market, so I did not get to see her till she was over a week old! She is so stinking cute, and a good baby! She looks a lot like Chris, however she has her mother's best attributes :). She is such a sweet baby, and very alert. Dustin and I went over to the Forrest household to cook steaks on Saturday. I spent most of the time holding Miss Avery. Below is a picture of the sweet baby girl. I stole the image from Facebook, so it may be a little blurry.

Come on with your bad self already!

Well it looks like I still have a couple follwers, at least 3. haha. My title to this post has 2 meanings really. My best friend Amber is 9 months preggers, and is going to pop any day now! I really want "baby girl" to come on any day now, so I won't be at market when she decides to make her apperance. We all want to meet her, so she better hurry it up already! I am in charge of the hosiptal bag, just in case she decides to come when they are at work. Hopefully I will be getting a call in the next couple days to head to Texas Woman's hospital with bag in hand!

The second meaning is for my poor husband. He is still despertly looking for work, turning every rock over he can. We get somewhere with Halliburton, and BP blows a well up. Some construction companies are starting to hire again, but the construction market is so saturated with unemployed people it is making it super compeitive. Please pray that something will come along soon! Can we catch a break already!!!!

Anyone Out There????

Does anyone even read out blog anymore? I know I never post, and I want to try to get better at it. Please let me know if you still read!

GO GO GO.....

This pretty much sums up why I NEVER write on my blog....and no one reads it anymore! We have been so super busy with weddings, baby showers, and just working in general. Dustin is still traveling to Lufkin to work with his Dad. My work has been pretty busy, and we are gearing up now for June market. This past weekend we helped throw Chris and Amber a baby shower/crawfish boil. She got a TON of stuff for her baby girl that is going to be born in June. Since she is due June 22, and I will be at market, me and baby girl are having a talk, so she will come early :).

Dustin has still been talking with Halliburton weekly, and we are PRAYING something comes through soon! Every week seems like we may be either getting closer to an answer, or taking a step back. HR with these big companies seem to take FOREVER. They see you as just another number, so they really do not care if you are REALLY wanting a job or not. Please keep praying for us, we need all the help we can get!

This next weekend my best friend from high school Stephanie is getting married. I am a bridesmaid, so we will be busy again! Friday I have a bridal luncheon, and the rehearsal dinner. Then Saturday I will be in town all day, so Dustin is going to ride in with my Mom, Courtney, and Ryder for the wedding. I am just excited that is here in town, so we can sleep at our own house! We are both getting tired of living out of suit cases by this point, but are very thankful Dustin's Dad has work for him on the side.

Our next 3 weekends are booked with weddings and my Grandpa's 85th birthday party. Hopefully by the end of May things will start to slow down a bit around here!
