One Month

I cant believe it has already been one month! Kaylee is growing like a weed, but is still little bitty. We have her one month check up on Monday, but the past 4 weeks really have flown by! I will post her stats on Monday after are appointment.

Diaper Size: Newborn
Clothes: Newborn (and most things in newborn are still to big for her)
Sleep habits: I still have to wake her every 3 1/2 to 4 hours at night to feed her. She is not a fan of getting up to eat either during the night! She is up most of the day, except for a couple cat naps here and there.

She has already been to 2 weddings! She is a very good baby, and is go with the flow! This weekend we have our 3rd wedding in a row. Dustin sister Ashely is getting married, and we are so excited! We can not wait to see her and Tyler become Mr. and Mrs. We are leaving super early in the morning tomorrow to head to Tyler, Texas.

Welcome Kaylee Marie!!

This post may be to TMI for some people. If you cant handle labor stories, pick back up at the ***

On Tuesday the 20th at 8pm, Dustin and I checked into Methodist West to start the induction process. It was a full house. We were very lucky and got one of the last rooms. Around 11:00pm a nurse came in to give me the medication to start inducing labor. At 11:45pm I was having full on contractions 2 minutes apart. They were strong and HURT. I asked for pain medication, and was very upset with the response. Since my contractions were so close together, they had to have permission from my doctor to give me an epidural. I was only at a 1, but my contractions were very close together. They gave me a dose of what my nurse called "liquid margarita", but it only lasted 2 hours. At 8am when my doctor came to check me I was only at a 2, and she went ahead an broke my water. She then said I could have my epidural. So basically I went through 9 hours of labor with nothing. This was the first thing that was not in my birth plan!

They kept upping my pitocin and I would just not dilate. My doctor then discovered that I had scaring on my cervix from my previous surgery, and would never dilate past a 4. She said I had to have a c-section. I was very upset, because this as well was not apart of my birth plan. I cried and was very upset. I would not get my Whataburger (and I was STARVING), and more importantly I would not get my "skin to skin" time to nurse. We had to do what we had to do, and they prepped me for a c-section. At 4pm we went in to the OR. The anesthesiologist then again gave me more drugs. This time I got super sick, and kept coming in and out of consciousness.

***At 4:39pm Miss Kaylee Marie finally decided to make her appearance. After 16 hours of labor, and a c-section later she was here. I barley remember her even being born. Shortly after I blacked out due to super high blood pressure. I woke up in recovery with more complications. The entire night was a blur. I remember trying to nurse (some), and that is about it. The next day I had to stay in bed pretty much the entire day. MISERABLE. After they took me off the IV and regulated the pain it was a pretty good stay. Dustin was wonderful through the entire ordeal. He took care of me like a Queen. I am so lucky to be married to such a great guy!! Kaylee had a high level of jaundice, and the last night we had to go down to the nursery every 3 hours to feed her under her "glow worm" lights. How cute does she look in her little sunglasses and passy???

We got to come home Saturday right as the Aggie vs. OSU game was starting. Dustin's Mom and sister came to stay with us till Sunday. They were such great help, although all I did is feed the baby and sleep. This week my Mom has been staying with us. All of you that know my Mom, she has COMPLETELY reorganized my house. I am sure I will not know where anything is ever again! I can't bend down and pick up anything, and can not pick anything up as heavy as the baby. This is really hard! We are completely blessed to have such great family and friends who care about us as much as they do to help. We are totally head over heals in love with Miss Kaylee. It is hard to believe that she is finally here! Here are some pictures of our little miracle:

She is such a good baby. She sleeps well at night, and only fusses when she is hungry or has to have her diaper changed.
