Santa

We went to Bass Pro the weekend before last to get Kaylee's first picture with Santa. Dustin was not feeling well that Thursday, so he went to the doctor to find out he had an upper respiratory infection. His doctor said he was not contagious, which we found out was WRONG. I will do another post on that later. By Saturday he said he was up to going to get her pictures, and do a little Christmas shopping. I got Kaylee all dressed up in her "I love Santa" outfit my Mom got her. How cute does she look???
We went to Bass Pro first, and the line was not to long. Kaylee really does not care who holds her, so to her Santa was just another person.  I know next year will be a different story.  I have never seen a child around a year old who was not screaming bloody murder in their Santa photo.  To me those are the best pictures! She was pretty chill, and just chewed on her hand. Ha.
The Santa at Bass Pro was EXTRA jolly. After we left Bass Pro we ran a couple other errands to get Christmas gifts for our families. We we got home Dustin was feeling bad again. He went from bad to worse by the end of the night, and now he was running fever. I wrapped gifts, and hung out with Kaylee for the rest of the night. That Sunday Dustin was still running fever and feeling bad.

2 Months already....

I cannot believe that it has been 2 months already!! It is amazing how much she has already changed. Her little personality is coming out for sure!! She LOVES to be held, and will let you know when it is time to pick her up. She is always very nosey, and wants to know what is going on at all times. I am behind on posts, because Miss Thing demands so much of my attention. It is ok with me, because I really enjoy spending time with her. I am sad that soon I will have to find a job, and won't get to stay with her all day long. She loves to talk and smile! She fights sleep during the day, but will sleep from 10pm-5am, and from 6am-9am. She had a very busy first Thanksgiving, but I will do another post on that later. Here are her stats from her 2 month check up.
Weight: 9 pounds 12 ounces (15%) Length: 22 1/4 inches (56%) Diapers: Size 1 Clothes: 3 month in mostly everything but pants. She can still wear some newborn pants.

One Month

I cant believe it has already been one month! Kaylee is growing like a weed, but is still little bitty. We have her one month check up on Monday, but the past 4 weeks really have flown by! I will post her stats on Monday after are appointment.

Diaper Size: Newborn
Clothes: Newborn (and most things in newborn are still to big for her)
Sleep habits: I still have to wake her every 3 1/2 to 4 hours at night to feed her. She is not a fan of getting up to eat either during the night! She is up most of the day, except for a couple cat naps here and there.

She has already been to 2 weddings! She is a very good baby, and is go with the flow! This weekend we have our 3rd wedding in a row. Dustin sister Ashely is getting married, and we are so excited! We can not wait to see her and Tyler become Mr. and Mrs. We are leaving super early in the morning tomorrow to head to Tyler, Texas.

Welcome Kaylee Marie!!

This post may be to TMI for some people. If you cant handle labor stories, pick back up at the ***

On Tuesday the 20th at 8pm, Dustin and I checked into Methodist West to start the induction process. It was a full house. We were very lucky and got one of the last rooms. Around 11:00pm a nurse came in to give me the medication to start inducing labor. At 11:45pm I was having full on contractions 2 minutes apart. They were strong and HURT. I asked for pain medication, and was very upset with the response. Since my contractions were so close together, they had to have permission from my doctor to give me an epidural. I was only at a 1, but my contractions were very close together. They gave me a dose of what my nurse called "liquid margarita", but it only lasted 2 hours. At 8am when my doctor came to check me I was only at a 2, and she went ahead an broke my water. She then said I could have my epidural. So basically I went through 9 hours of labor with nothing. This was the first thing that was not in my birth plan!

They kept upping my pitocin and I would just not dilate. My doctor then discovered that I had scaring on my cervix from my previous surgery, and would never dilate past a 4. She said I had to have a c-section. I was very upset, because this as well was not apart of my birth plan. I cried and was very upset. I would not get my Whataburger (and I was STARVING), and more importantly I would not get my "skin to skin" time to nurse. We had to do what we had to do, and they prepped me for a c-section. At 4pm we went in to the OR. The anesthesiologist then again gave me more drugs. This time I got super sick, and kept coming in and out of consciousness.

***At 4:39pm Miss Kaylee Marie finally decided to make her appearance. After 16 hours of labor, and a c-section later she was here. I barley remember her even being born. Shortly after I blacked out due to super high blood pressure. I woke up in recovery with more complications. The entire night was a blur. I remember trying to nurse (some), and that is about it. The next day I had to stay in bed pretty much the entire day. MISERABLE. After they took me off the IV and regulated the pain it was a pretty good stay. Dustin was wonderful through the entire ordeal. He took care of me like a Queen. I am so lucky to be married to such a great guy!! Kaylee had a high level of jaundice, and the last night we had to go down to the nursery every 3 hours to feed her under her "glow worm" lights. How cute does she look in her little sunglasses and passy???

We got to come home Saturday right as the Aggie vs. OSU game was starting. Dustin's Mom and sister came to stay with us till Sunday. They were such great help, although all I did is feed the baby and sleep. This week my Mom has been staying with us. All of you that know my Mom, she has COMPLETELY reorganized my house. I am sure I will not know where anything is ever again! I can't bend down and pick up anything, and can not pick anything up as heavy as the baby. This is really hard! We are completely blessed to have such great family and friends who care about us as much as they do to help. We are totally head over heals in love with Miss Kaylee. It is hard to believe that she is finally here! Here are some pictures of our little miracle:

She is such a good baby. She sleeps well at night, and only fusses when she is hungry or has to have her diaper changed.

2 Days!

Well since Kaylee has decided that she will never come out on her own....I am going to be induced on Wednesday. My doctor feels that with my platelet count still falling, and Kaylee is measuring plenty big it is time to just take her. I am fully convinced she would never come out on her own otherwise. Dustin and I will check in Tuesday night, so I can start a round of antibiotics. Then at 5:30am on Wednesday they will start me on pitocin to induce labor.

Yesterday Dustin and I finished up last minute stuff. We set up the pack and play in our room, and washed a couple last minute items. We had to move both of the dog's beds together, and Millie is not very pleased to sleep next to Trigger. I found her in several different places on the carpet last night trying to get away from him. I can't say I blame her. He is not a very sound and still sleeper. Trigger has been super clingy this morning too. He sat next to me on the couch this morning just crying at me to sleep on my lap...or what is left of a lap with my big belly. I think that may have just been for a short amount of time though. Right now he is sitting on the other couch eating his foot and grunting. He is a very unreliable source for the "dog sixth sense", and I don't think he ever even had it to begin with. I hope Millie picks up his extra slack on "knowing" something is going on. I don't sleep well anymore, and once I get up to go to the bathroom one of the 5,000 times during the night there is no going back to sleep.

We are both super ready to meet this little girl. Hopefully sometime early Wednesday afternoon we will be able to hold Miss Kaylee. Dustin's parents and sister are coming in town, and my Mom and brother will be here to welcome Kaylee. My sister is all the way in no where west Texas(Odessa), so I need to set up a Skype account today so she can see Kaylee. My Dad is coming home from a successful African hunt on Thursday, and hopefully he can come and meet his grand daughter then. Friday morning he leaves again for another hunt. Maybe he will be able to meet her by her 1st birthday...

Waiting Game

So there not really any change here. This baby is never going to come out...or until next Wednesday when we MAKE her come out. Shes just hanging tight...enjoying spending time in my belly. I went to the doctor on Wednesday and she said " no big change, so we will see you next Tuesday night". I have done everything I can think of here around the house. I have all the wash caught up, cleaned, trimmed the hedges, and Dustin mulched the flower beds tonight. This morning I was pulling weeds in the flower bed in the back yard, and Trigger pissed on my leg. I think his plan was to piss on the pile of weeds, but he completely missed the weeds and got my leg. I yelled at him and he just looked at me with not a care in the world. Tonight when Dustin was mulching the back bed we let Trigger and Millie play out back with this Jolly Ball. Here are a couple pictures of them playing:

This weekend we are throwing a shower for our friends Brittany and Mike Weisinger in Conroe. They are expecting a little boy in November. So many babies being born and weddings happening lately! For the first 3 weekends in October we have weddings to attend. Kaylee will be a wedding pro before she is even a month old!
