Fun at Mimi and Poppy's

This weekend my sister and her 2 boys came in from Odessa ( aka the middle of no where Texas). Dustin was hunting in South Texas, and my brother-in-law Charlie was in a blast and cast tournament. On Saturday Kaylee and I got dressed, and made the long 3 mile trip to my parents house. I had her dressed in this cute little reindeer outfit and matching bow Dustin's Aunts gave her.

 When my sister arrived we noticed that a local church was having a Polar Express event at the park by my Mom's. After we got the Reeve's settled, and we cleaned up Kaylee's blow out, we walked to the park to check out the event. Santa happened to be there for pictures.

Ryder had a blast. They had all kinds of activities for kids, and a train! He loved all of it, even story time with Mrs. Clause.

 Sunday we went back for lunch, and shopping. Bear is semi crawling, and he made his way over to talk to his cousin. Haha! He kept trying to touch Kaylee's hair. Ryder kept giving Kaylee kisses, and telling us "Kaylee is my cousin".

 After lunch we decided to venture out to shop. It's not easy shopping with 2 infants and a 3 year old. Only about 40 minutes in Kaylee was on the verge of a breakdown, and Dustin was close to being home.  We headed home to see Daddy's big South Texas buck!  It was a great weekend for everyone.

The Clark Family Christmas Home Tour

I love Christmas time!  Fellowship with family and friends, baking, and giving gifts.  I am so excited for Kaylee's first Christmas.  We are not getting her a whole lot of gifts....mostly cause she will not understand what is really going on.  Next year we will go all out! 

I love to decorate our little home at Christmas time.  This year we put our stuff out the week before Thanksgiving.  I know its not really what you are suppose to do, and this was our first time to do it.  I have to say I am so glad we did.  We travel so much during Thanksgiving seeing family that when we get home on Sunday we are all wore out.  It was nice to come home and just relax.  Here is what the Clark family home looks like this Christmas:

Family Stockings: the one thing I regret not doing when we built our home is not putting in a fireplace. This is the only time of year I miss having a fireplace. But we do live in Houston, and its only cold a hand full of times. I will just have to make do with our stockings on the window seal.

I have been going back and forth on what I wanted to do as far as Kaylee's ornament.  My Mom started a collection for each of us kids, and I wanted to do the same.  I think I am going to do mine a little different.  I am going to frame a picture in an ornament frame every year with the year and her age.  I have not done her first one yet, because I want it to be the picture of her on Christmas day.

Go Away RSV

So Dustin's upper respiratory that I spoke about in the last post, you know the NON contagious one???? Yep it was super contagious and was RSV!! Guess who got it...

You got it...Kaylee and myself started to feel bad that Tuesday.  We both immediately went to the doctor.  My doctor gave me a z-pack.  Since I am nursing I am limited on what I can take.  So just in case it turned into a sinus infection, she gave me a z-pack.  Kaylee got checked out, but they told me to just let them know if she runs fever, had upper chest congestion, or quits eating.  Friday when she got up she was super congested.  We called the doctor and they said to sit in the bathroom with the shower running on hot in the steam.  The picture above is when we were hanging out in the "steam room".  We did this about 3 times a day, and I would sing Christmas songs to keep her entertained....or was it to keep me entertained :).  Dustin left after work to go to Lufkin to go hunting.  Later that day Kaylee and I both started to feel worse.  She started to weez, so at 5pm they had me rush her back up to the doctor.  A nurse and doctor from her practice stayed late so they could check her out.  They hooked her up to machines and her oxygen level was at 100%, and after evaluation they sent us back home.  The doctor said if she got worse to call immediately, because she thought she had RSV.  Saturday morning she was coughing and could not catch her breath.  She was breathing really heavy, and threw up everything right after she nursed.  I called again, and they had me bring her in right away.  I was a nervous freaking wreck.  My Mom came over right away to drive me to Texas Children's.  I asked my Mom on the way to the hospital how she always stays so calm.  She is such a strong woman.  She told me that when my brother Brent was born with Spina Bifida that there was no time to freak out.  She would just say to herself "OK what is the next step to fix the problem", and to put your trust in God.  I need to take this advice more often.  It is so true!!  They took us back and hooked her back up to the machines.  Her oxygen was down to 95%, and after she coughed went back up to 100%.  While we were waiting on the doctor the nurse said to go ahead and feed her.  As I was nursing her she started a coughing fit.  This time her face was turning bright red, she was not breathing, and she was choking on flem.  My Mom flew out of the room to get someone.  The nurse flew in and took Kaylee.  She started hitting her back, and she threw up a ton of mucus.  At this point I was HYSTERICALLY crying and freaking out...not good.  Dustin was driving back from Lufkin to meet us at the hospital.  He made it back in record time from the deer stand.  The doctor came in and decided to see how she did with a breathing treatment.  The breathing treatment went extremely well, and really helped her pass the flem.  He told us that she did have RSV, but because I was nursing and she was not running fever that he thought we would do fine from home.  Saturday was rough.  She threw up almost everything she ate from having coughing fits.  She even started running a mild fever.  Sunday was a much better day.  We are defiantly on the down hill side of it.  I am so happy that my little girl is feeling better.  That was super scary.  It makes me feel extremely blessed to have a healthy child.  It also breaks my heart for those parents who have terminally ill children, or children with extreme problems.  They are true hero's.  Although she still hates her breathing treatments, and fights everyone...she is doing much better!

After fighting Mommy for 10 minutes we finally took our treatment and passed out!  We are on the mend!!

Santa

We went to Bass Pro the weekend before last to get Kaylee's first picture with Santa. Dustin was not feeling well that Thursday, so he went to the doctor to find out he had an upper respiratory infection. His doctor said he was not contagious, which we found out was WRONG. I will do another post on that later. By Saturday he said he was up to going to get her pictures, and do a little Christmas shopping. I got Kaylee all dressed up in her "I love Santa" outfit my Mom got her. How cute does she look???

We went to Bass Pro first, and the line was not to long. Kaylee really does not care who holds her, so to her Santa was just another person.  I know next year will be a different story.  I have never seen a child around a year old who was not screaming bloody murder in their Santa photo.  To me those are the best pictures! She was pretty chill, and just chewed on her hand. Ha.

The Santa at Bass Pro was EXTRA jolly. After we left Bass Pro we ran a couple other errands to get Christmas gifts for our families. We we got home Dustin was feeling bad again. He went from bad to worse by the end of the night, and now he was running fever. I wrapped gifts, and hung out with Kaylee for the rest of the night. That Sunday Dustin was still running fever and feeling bad.

2 Months already....

I cannot believe that it has been 2 months already!! It is amazing how much she has already changed. Her little personality is coming out for sure!! She LOVES to be held, and will let you know when it is time to pick her up. She is always very nosey, and wants to know what is going on at all times. I am behind on posts, because Miss Thing demands so much of my attention. It is ok with me, because I really enjoy spending time with her. I am sad that soon I will have to find a job, and won't get to stay with her all day long. She loves to talk and smile! She fights sleep during the day, but will sleep from 10pm-5am, and from 6am-9am. She had a very busy first Thanksgiving, but I will do another post on that later. Here are her stats from her 2 month check up.

One Month

I cant believe it has already been one month! Kaylee is growing like a weed, but is still little bitty. We have her one month check up on Monday, but the past 4 weeks really have flown by! I will post her stats on Monday after are appointment.


Diaper Size: Newborn
Clothes: Newborn (and most things in newborn are still to big for her)
Sleep habits: I still have to wake her every 3 1/2 to 4 hours at night to feed her. She is not a fan of getting up to eat either during the night! She is up most of the day, except for a couple cat naps here and there.


She has already been to 2 weddings! She is a very good baby, and is go with the flow! This weekend we have our 3rd wedding in a row. Dustin sister Ashely is getting married, and we are so excited! We can not wait to see her and Tyler become Mr. and Mrs. We are leaving super early in the morning tomorrow to head to Tyler, Texas.

I have been trying to post Kaylee's birth post for awhile, and for some reason blogger would not let me post it. Finally it let me post it! She is still doing really well! Still tiny, and a very good baby!
